Tzedakah - with Miss Cleminson
Tzedakah is far more than charity. In Judaism, it is a sacred responsibility that reflects our commitment to Tikkun Olam (repairing the world) and embodies the spirit of The Community Kind. As one of the three central pillars of the month of Elul, Tzedakah invites us to look beyond ourselves and consider how we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
In this episode, we explore the many forms Tzedakah can take, from giving money and donating belongings to opening our homes, sharing our time, and offering support to those in need. We'll reflect on the teaching that the highest form of Tzedakah is giving anonymously, where the focus remains solely on helping others rather than receiving recognition in return.
We'll also examine how the act of giving benefits not only the recipient but the giver as well. Research suggests that generosity and acts of kindness can have a powerful impact on mental wellbeing, fostering connection, purpose, and resilience. Join us as we uncover how Tzedakah can strengthen our communities, nurture our souls, and inspire us to become active partners in repairing the world.

This week is the Bullying - No Way! Week of Action! Australia's national campaign to prevent bullying and violence in schools.
This year's theme, "Small Acts, Big Impact", aligns closely with the Jewish concept of Tikkun Olam (making the world a better place). Through small acts of kindness and respect each day, we can create a positive school environment and teach our children the importance of treating others with care and understanding. In doing so, we demonstrate how small actions can make a big impact on our world.
Join us as we discuss kindness and play around with our KINDNESS CHATTER BOX! (download available from link in episode).
